As a current OCS candidate, joining Armed Forces Mutual with $100,000 of BeyondBasic term life insurance also makes you eligible for the CAP (Career Assistance Program) Loan — a benefit of Membership that nearly 50,000 servicemembers have used since it was created.
The CAP Loan is a $5,000 personal loan that you pay back over 60 months at a fixed 2.5% APR*. Use the funds when and where you need them — help pay for your next PCS, cover higher education costs, get extra financial support during a deployment, or make a big purchase or large debt easier to manage. It’s totally up to you. No collateral. No prepayment penalty.

Start your application by gathering the information you need to apply (see list below), fill in the form and click “BEGIN”. On the next page, select BeyondBasic. A checkbox to include the CAP Loan Member benefit application will appear. Select it to add the CAP Loan to your application submission.
Completing the application will only take about 15 minutes. Your session will time out after one hour, so be sure to save your progress if you need more time or you want to return later.
What You Need to Apply:
- Your Social Security Number
- Your date of birth
- Addresses of anyone who may be named in your policy (such as owners and payers)
- A copy of Your ID (driver’s license or U.S. passport)
- Documentation proving the date you joined the military or the date you began OCS/WCSA
- A copy of your LES
