AAFMAA Membership comes with a bonus: Take advantage of the Career Assistance Program (CAP) Loan Member benefit.
The CAP Loan is a $5,000 personal loan that you pay back over 60 months at a fixed 1.5% APR. Use the funds when and where you need them — help pay for your next PCS, cover higher education costs, get extra financial support during a deployment, or make a big purchase or large debt easier to manage. It’s totally up to you. No credit check. No collateral. No prepayment penalty.

Important: This application is for new Members and first-time CAP applicants only. If you are already a Member or previously had a CAP Loan, you might qualify for another one! Call us at 800-336-4538 to find out.
Click “Get a Quote” below to start the online application process and secure your new AAFMAA Membership. On the next page, complete the form with your contact and demographic information, and select a coverage amount. Note: To be eligible for the CAP Loan Member benefit you must select at least $250,000 of Level Term I, at least $25,000 of Value-Added Whole Life, or $100,000 of BeyondBasic coverage. Once you've completed the form click the “Get a Quote” button at the bottom. You will see quote options tailored to your request. Select the quote that best fits your needs and click the "Apply" button. After confirming some details about yourself, you will arrive at the "Product Selection" page of the application. It will show the product you chose at the top and if you followed the eligibility guidelines above, you will see a checkbox to add the CAP Loan Member benefit to your application submission in the "Additional Benefits" section. Check that box, enter your military email address and click next to progress through the rest of the application.
Completing your application should take about 20 minutes (depending on how much detail you need to provide). Your progress will be saved automatically as you work through it, so don’t worry if you need more time. Also, once you start the application, you will receive an email with a link that can return you to your application in progress. So if you need to pause and complete your application later, you can return to where you left off by following the link in that email. Without that link, you will need to restart the application process from the beginning.
You will be asked to upload electronic copies of supporting documents like your ID, LES or medical information at the end.
